DePaul Community Service Scholarship

Scholarship Description
The Community Service Scholarship rewards students who have demonstrated an exceptional record of community service and are commited to engaging in the community while at DePaul. Recipients are required to declare the community service studies minor, which provides a framework for viewing community service from the perspectives of theory, ethics and group dynamics. To be considered, you must demonstrate an exceptional record of community service with priority going to those exhibiting longevity and consistency in their commitments, as well as a depth of understanding of their service. Renewal Criteria
Service and Leadership scholarships are renewable for a total of 12 consecutive quarters of undergraduate study. Recipients must be enrolled full time each quarter, maintain a 2.7 grade point average and earn a minimum of 36 credit hours annually, excluding summer sessions.

In addition, recipients must complete 30 hours of community service each quarter under advisement of the Steans Center for Community-based Service Learning, enroll in the Community Services Studies academic minor, attend workshops related to service learning and meetings with the program coordinator for advising.
