The College fosters the mutual development of intellect and character so that the members of our community may lead meaningful, productive lives and succeed in their professional and social roles.
A central theme in Eureka College's mission and heritage had always been service. It's who we are as a family. We seek excellence in learning , service and leadership. We want to reward entering students for the outstanding service they have provided to their communities and to our world---thus, the Eureka College Service Award---a $1000 one-time award.
First, the student needs to be nominated for the award (no self-nominations please).
The nominator should not be a HS Counselor but a Business, Community or Church Leader who has benefited directly from your service. Both freshmen and transfers are welcome to be nominated. Once we receive the nomination form, we will contact the student directly to inform him/her.
Second, the student needs to apply and be admitted to Eureka College. The nominated student then needs to submit a service portfolio and a list of references that can speak to the student's service. The student will also need to visit the E.C. campus and set up a visit in order to be interviewed by an admissions counselor. After reviewing all materials, the College will inform the student if they will receive the award!
The $1,000 award is non-transferable and applicable only to tuition for the first year of attendance at E.C. It is stackable with other institutional awards but only to a maximum of $6,500.
