The Lincoln Scholarship -- our highest recognition for first-year students -- offers awards of up to $16,000 per year. Lincoln Scholarship recipients form a select group of the nation's best and brightest students.
The Lincoln Scholarship honors the special relationship between Knox and Abraham Lincoln. Knox hosted one of the famous Lincoln-Douglas debates in 1858, and in 1860 Lincoln was the first person to receive an honorary degree from Knox. Research into Lincoln's pre-presidential years, and publications about Lincoln, done by the Lincoln Studies Center at Knox College, have been featured on The History Channel and have won numerous national awards.
