Northwestern College is a Christian academic community engaging students in courageous and faithful learning and living that empowers them to follow Christ and pursue God’s redeeming work in the world.
The Norman Vincent Peale Scholarships were established in honor of Dr. Norman Vincent Peale by Homer and Margaret Surbeck. Each year a number of prestigious Peale Scholarships, each worth more than 50 percent of tuition costs, are awarded to incoming freshmen who exhibit high academic ability and who possess school, church and community leadership skills. They are renewable each year, provided the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA. To apply, each applicant must meet the following criteria: a ranking within the top 15 percent of their high school class or a minimum 3.5 GPA, a minimum ACT score of 26 (or SAT equivalent), strong Christian commitment, demonstrated leadership skills, and intention to enroll as a full-time student at Northwestern College.
