Northwestern College is a Christian academic community engaging students in courageous and faithful learning and living that empowers them to follow Christ and pursue God’s redeeming work in the world.
The Northwestern Theatre Scholarship is available to students who plan to become involved in theatre productions at NWC. It is awarded to students with experience in one or more areas of theatre, including acting, playwriting, scenery, lighting, costuming, properties, directing, stage management and house management. A major in theatre is not required. A limited number of scholarships are available. Awards are made by the theatre department faculty in conjunction with the financial aid office and are based on an application, recommendation, and audition or interview. Scholarship recipients must maintain good academic standing and meet the college's eligibility requirements for participation in co-curricular activities. They must also be involved at some level in every production of the theatre department. Registration in the course Theatre Production Ensemble is required, as is at least 90 hours of work each semester in some area of theatrical production. The Northwestern Theatre Scholarship is renewable, and awards are evaluated on a yearly basis.
