Double Your Dollars For Scholars Scholarship
- Scholarship Description
- The United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF) provides this $1,000 matching scholarship on a first-come, first-served basis. To receive the scholarship, a sponsoring church must remit a check payable to UMHEF for $1,000 with a completed application form. Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students in a United Methodist related college, university or seminary and be active members of The United Methodist Church for at least one year. Upon verficiation of enrollment, UMHEF will transfer $1,000 to the institution. Only one application per church or student will be accepted. All applications and checks received after the program has closed out will be returned to the sponsoring churches. Southwestern College strongly recommends that students time their completed applications to be received in the UMHEF office postmarked March 15 or 16. Applications received without this postmark will be returned to the student. Students attending the main campus who receive this scholarship are also eligible for the $1,000 Southwestern College Roy L. Smith church matching scholarship for a total scholarship award of $3,000.
