James J. Rhatigan Leadership Scholarship

Scholarship Description
The James J. Rhatigan Leadership Scholarship was created by the 1995-1996 Student Government Associaton to provide tuition and cost of living assistance to eligible Wichita State University Juniors and Seniors. The Scholarship honors Dr. James J. Rhatigan, Senior Vice President of Wichita State University, for his many years of service as Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students, and for being a model of leadership to students throughout his tenure. The scholarship is meant to reward students who have demonstrated consistent leadership, service, and academic merit within the University and surrounding community. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following criteria: 1) Illustration of leadership skills, 2) Commitment to academic excellence (GPA of 3.0 or above), 3) Financial need, 4) Service to the University and community. In addition, all applicants must: 1) Be currently enrolled as a Wichita State University student, 2) Have at least 60 credit hours completed before the Fall semester for which the scholarship is awarded, 3) Have at least two additional semesters of course work to complete, 4) Enroll as a full-time student during the period of the award, 6) Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 throughout the award period .
