National Science Foundation (NSF) Science & Technology Scholarship Program
Scholarship Description
Howard Community College’s National Science Foundation (NSF) Science & Technology Scholarship Program is designed to support full-time students majoring in any of the following content areas: Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Life Science, Mathematics, and Physical Science. Medical majors are not covered by this program (i.e. pre-med, pre-dental, pre-pharmacy). Applicants must be US citizens, Permanent Residents, or non-U.S. citizens in refugee or asylee statuses; have financial need; enroll full-time (12 or more credits); have a 2.8 or higher GPA; and agree to participate in a one-credit seminar per term and other program activities. Scholarships will be awarded for up to two years. Scholarships vary in amount up to $6,000 per year and can be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies, equipment and other needs. Scholarship recipients will be part of a learning community. Each will be assigned a faculty mentor and participate in a range of activities related to their major.
