The Colvard Scholarship was established in 1976 in recognition of Dr. D. W. Colvard, first chancellor of UNC Charlotte from 1966 to 1978, and his wife, Martha. The Colvard Scholarship is designed to attract students with great potential to the University. Applicants' roles as leaders and their service to school and community are weighed carefully in the selection of Colvard scholars.
Award: $14,000 annually with $2,750 for one semester of study abroad
