Truman Leadership Award

Scholarship Description
The Truman Leadership Award is designed to recognize outstanding high school students who have a demonstrated aptitude for leadership both in the classroom and in co-curricular activities. The scholarship, in honor of Harry S. Truman, is for Missouri residents and provides scholarship of up to full tuition, room and board to cover the cost of a two person room in Dobson, E.C. Grim or Missouri Halls. (Please note that the value of your award will be set annually to cover full-time tuition and room and board up to the average two-person room rate. The average 2-person room & board rate for is calculated by averaging the costs for a standard 2-person room in Centennial, Dobson, E.C. Grim, Missouri, and Ryle Halls.) To help cultivate their very promising leadership potential, recipients will also be invited to participate in a special course on leadership for college credit including a seminar on the Seven Habits of Highly Effective PeopleTM. High school seniors who demonstrate energetic leadership in the classroom, school, and community as well as outstanding academic achievement will be considered for the award. Students must be accepted for admission to Truman State University by January 15 to be reviewed for the award.
