White Scholarship for Business Students

Scholarship Description
Through a generous donation made in memory of Charlene White, this four-year scholarship worth up to $19,000 is for incoming students planning to declare a major in the Department of Business, Accounting and Economics at Nebraska Wesleyan University. A grade point average of a 3.0 (a “B” average) must also be maintained, and the student must go on to complete a major in the Department of Business, Accounting and Economics. A White Scholarship recipient will receive up to $19,000 to be awarded as follows: First year: $2,000. Sophomore: $5,000. Junior: $6,000. Senior: $6,000. Requirements: • Apply to and be accepted at Nebraska Wesleyan University • Intend to declare a major in Business Administration (including marketing, management and finance), Accounting, Economics or International Business • A minimum ACT of 22 • T op 33% of high school graduating class • A 250–500 word essay that describes why you want to study business. Consideration given to the following: • Financial need (FAF SA submitted to NWU) • Under-represented population (student of color, physical disability, etc.) • First-generation college student. To maintain eligibility each year: • Declare a major in the Department of Business, Accounting and Economics during second semester of first year • Maintain a 3.0 GPA • Progress towards major requirements throughout college career as determined by the department chair.
