Rider University participates in the New Jersey Outstanding Scholar Recruitment Program. Rider merit scholarships represent the university’s match to the program. In order to qualify students must meet the following eligibility requirements. Outstanding New Jersey high school seniors: awards are based on a sliding scale of rank in class and combined critical reading and math SAT scores.
This scholarship is renewable for up to 3 years, maintaining a full time status and a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4 point scale.
In order to be considered for NJ state grant and scholarship aid, you must: »Be an undergraduate enrolled full-time at an eligible New Jersey institution in an approved degree or certificate program
»Be a legal resident of New Jersey for at least 12 consecutive months prior to receiving an award (if you are a dependent student, your parents must also be New Jersey residents)
»Qualify financially for an award based on need, or academically for an award based on scholastic achievement
»Be a U.S. citizen, or eligible non-citizen
»Not be in default on a federal or state student loan
»Not owe a refund on a federal or New Jersey grant or scholarship
»Not have already received a baccalaureate degree
»Not have already received an associate degree if enrolled at a two-year college
»Be in good academic standing and making satisfactory academic progress according to institutional and State guidelines
»Be registered with Selective Service if required to do so.
