Music Scholarships

Scholarship Description
Numerous $2,000 scholarships are available to incoming freshmen, and are renewable for four years. It is not necessary to be a music major or minor to apply for a music scholarship. Criteria: • Admission to Canisius College as a full-time student. • High school music performance experience (solo or ensemble), • Application tape/CD: 5 minutes total. Two contrasting styles of music. (Sections of movements or etudes are acceptable). • Solo audition by invitation pending review of application and tape/CD. References: Include two letters of reference. One should be from a music teacher. Other suggested sources include high school principal, teacher, guidance counselor, community /church leader. Conditions: •Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5, •Active participation in one of the Canisius College performance ensembles, •Membership in the Arts Promotion Club.
