Peter F. Vallone Academic Scholarship

Scholarship Description
The Peter F. Vallone Academic Scholarship is for New York City high school graduates with a "B" average or better. Candidates must have passed at least twelve college preparatory courses and must enroll at a CUNY college as a full-time student within one year of graduation. In addition, in order to be eligible, award candidates must have no prior attendance at a post-secondary institution. The high school academic record included with the CUNY freshman admissions application is reviewed in order to determine eligibility. No separate application is required. Award recipients must register on a full-time basis each semester (except summer) and maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. If scholarship recipients do not register for a semester, register on a part-time basis, or earn a GPA below 3.0, they will become ineligible to receive the award. The Vallone Scholarship cannot be restored once it has been lost. The Peter F. Vallone Scholarship award amount is determined annually by the New York City Council, and is subject to change. The current award amount is $1,000 for the academic year.
