- To encourage the study of Latin America and to forge closer ties with Latin America. Eligibility: A recruitment fellowship for LLILAS graduate students. First preference will be given to applicants from the following counties in South Texas: Atascosa, Bee, Bexar, Brooks, Cameron, Dimminit, Duval, El Paso, Frio, Goliad, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Karnes, Kenedy, Kinney, Kleberg, Lasalle, Live Oak, Maverick, mcMullen, Medina, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Starr, Uvalde, Val Verde, Victoria, Webb, Willac, Wilson, Zapata and Zavala. Stipend: $12,000 for nine months (Fall and Spring semesters) - plus U.T. tuition and fees. Application deadline: January 15
