Herb Wetanson Scholarship

Scholarship Description
Amount to be determined. The Office of Financial Aid will select recipient. Open to currently enrolled, new incoming freshman, and transfer students who will be matriculated at SUNY College at Old Westbury during the academic year.Full-time or Part-time students may apply. Must be of African, Hispanic/Latino heritage. Must be a New York City resident. Must have at least at least a 3.0 college grade point average (based on a 4 point system)/80 high school average at the time of applying, and must maintain that GPA throughout the academic year.Financial need is a requirement. Applicant must demonstrate that this award will make the difference in being able to attend SUNY College at Old Westbury.Two faculty recommendations on official letterhead. An original essay, 500 words minimum, entitled, Why A College Education Is Important To Me.
