Presidential Scholarship
- Scholarship Description
- Presidential Scholarships are prestigious, merit-based scholarships for those students who show great promise of benefiting from a Campbell University education. Presidential Scholars at Campbell are expected to be persons with high intellectual ability, strong character, commitment to service, and excellent leadership potential. Subject to satisfactory performance in requisite areas, the holder is entitled to significant funding for undergraduate study at Campbell for four years. Scholars are to be full-time students in an undergraduate or preprofessional program offered at Campbell Universityâ??s Buies Creek campus. Students winning admittance to one of the Universityâ??s graduate or professional programs are no longer eligible to hold an undergraduate Presidential Scholarship, but may apply for scholarship support through the individual School. Satisfactory academic progress to retain scholarship eligibility requires a 2.75 cumulative GPA by the beginning of the third semester, a 3.0 by the beginning of the fifth semester, and a 3.25 by the beginning of the studentâ??s seventh semester. Scholars are required to complete an appropriate number of service hours as determined by the Coordinator of the Presidential Scholars Program. Further, Scholars are required to create and maintain in an appropriate fashion a Student Portfolio of their experiences and accomplishments. Scholarâ??s conduct and overall social standing must be without, significant blemish. A Scholar placed on disciplinary probation shall forfeit their eligibility at the end of that semester.
