The successful merit scholarship candidate will present a rigorous course selection, including Honors, Advanced Placement and/or International Baccalaureate when available. Other factors considered include the written essay and leadership in high school. Priority will be given to students who submit completed applications by January 15. All students are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA as soon after January 1 as possible. For students who do not meet the criteria for the Presidential, Thompson, and Transfer scholarships, Guilford College recognizes achievement and leadership with additional scholarship opportunities. Please contact your admission counselor for more information.
