ProgramGeneral Description: The purpose of the History-Education Scholarship Program is to provide additional assistance to select graduate students who are enrolled in graduate-level history classes at JCU.
Program Details: Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis for a period of one year. When combined with the Teacher Development Scholarship (required), the History-Education Scholarship provides an additional thirty three percent scholarship for one course per semester for a total of three courses during the period of one year. One need not be a History major to apply. Awardees are invited to reapply for subsequent years; however, since it is a competitive scholarship, renewal is not guaranteed.
To qualify: Candidates must be recipients of the Teacher Development Scholarship and be enrolled in a regularly scheduled graduate-level History course. (Note: the scholarship does not apply to independent study or theses research.) Scholarships will be awarded competitively based upon one's most recent cumulative G.P.A. Preference will be given to fully-accepted, matriculated students. Applicants and recipients must maintain an overall G.P.A. of 3.0. Failure to maintain an average of "B" in each course will result in a loss of the scholarship.
