Mercy College of Northwest Ohio offers two full tuition scholarships to Health Information Technology students. Both high school seniors and students transferring from another regionally accredited college may apply. High school seniors must be admitted to Mercy College's HIT program, have at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) and an ACT composite score of at least 21 (or comparable SAT score). Transfer students must be admitted to Mercy College's HIT program and have earned a minimum of 15 credit hours of college coursework with at least a 3.0 GPA from a regionally accredited college. For applicants who have attended more than one regionally accredited college, GPA's from all of these colleges must combine to equal at least 3.0.
Recipients must remain continuously enrolled either full-time or part-time in good standing in accordance with the HIT program of study curriculum. Students must also maintain a 3.0 GPA and complete the program within two years for Fall Start and within two and one half years for Spring Start. This scholarship can only be used towards otherwise unpaid or uncovered tuition and fees. The approximate value of scholarship is up to $18,000.00, based upon 2006-07 tuition rates.
