Description:
Students with undergraduate degrees in the physical sciences, life sciences or engineering are eligible to apply. Open to entering graduate students or those currently enrolled in a qualified course of study but have no yet selected a thesis topic. The program will assist in preparing students for roles in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program and will also support the boarder objective of advancing fission energy development through the research efforts of the fellows.

Award: The Fellow's required tuition and fees are covered by MUSC and they receive a monthly stipend of $2,100. The Fellow's basic stipend is augmented by an additional $500 (prorated) each month during the practicum. The award is limited to 24 months for master’s candidates. Awards will not normally be given for more than 48 months for doctoral candidates.
