Scholarship Description
The purpose of this fellowship is to support students who demonstrate a superior level of civic responsibility and who wish to teach American history, government, or social studies at the high school level. Requirements: Must be a United States citizen or United States national Must be a teacher or plan to become a teacher of American history, government, or social studies at the secondary school level (grades 7-12) Must possess or plan to receive a bachelor's degree no later than August 31 of the year which you are applying One must also wait at least three (3) years from the time that any previous graduate degree was awarded before appyling for a James Madison Memorial Fellowship Award: Room and board Tuition and fees (includes books) Maximum amount of the awards is $12,000 per year with a total limit of $24,000.
