Available to all incoming traditional undergraduate students who qualify for Northwest Christian College's merit scholarship program, regardless of need. Ethical Leadership Scholarships are renewable up to four years provided that the student maintains a 3.0 or greater cumulative grade point average.
First time freshmen may qualify for $500-$3000 per year based upon their level of leadership experience. $500 is given for each of the following categories that you may qualify for:
Active member in a church youth group or Christian Organization (e.g. Young Life, Fellowship of Christian Athletes).
Leadership role in church during junior or senior year of high school (e.g. Sunday school teacher, president of youth group).
Leadership role in global engagement with cultural awareness organization, mission organization, international organization, or service organization (e.g. Black Student Union, Habitat for Humanity, church mission trip).
Officer in student government/class officer during junior or senior year of high school.
Active leader in a mentoring program during your junior or senior year of high school (e.g. camp counselor, LINK, peer mentoring, STARS).
Active member of student leadership at your high school during your junior or senior year of high school (e.g. club officer, yearbook editor, athletic team captain, school newspaper editor).Transfer students may qualify for $500-$2000 per year based upon their level of leadership experience. $500 is given for each of the following categories that you may qualify for:
Leadership role in an organized church activity or group (e.g. nursery leader, small group leader, ministry staff).
Leadership role in global engagement with cultural awareness organization, mission organization, international organization, or service organization (e.g. Black Student Union, Habitat for Humanity, church mission trip).
Leadership role in a mentoring program at a local K-12 school outside of academic requirements (e.g. LINK, volunteer coordinator, STARS).
Student leadership role at your most recent college (e.g. club officer, yearbook editor, athletic team captain, school newspaper editor).
To receive the maximum Ethical Leadership Scholarship amount, you must have at least one leadership experience in each of the above categories. If you have more than one leadership role in a particular category, you would only receive $500 in that category.
