This scholarship was established in 1990 to honor a man who had a keen interest in aiding students in the
study of science. The scholarship was established in loving memory of her father by Dr. B. Jeanne Fisher,
who served as UAH Vice President for Student Affairs. The scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in
the College of Science and is based on academic merit, citizenship, and leadership, with regard to
demonstrated financial need.
This scholarship is renewable for up to three additional years. The student must maintain a full-time course
load (12 credit hours) each semester. In addition, recipients must complete a total of 24 credit hours each
academic year, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and must submit a scholarship application by
the priority deadline each year, providing continued evidence of citizenship and leadership, to be eligible
for renewal of this award.
In addition, this scholarship may be cancelled or reduced if the recipient does not enroll full time,
withdraws from classes, fails to attend for a semester or more, graduates, fails to meet the renewal criteria
and/or does not maintain satisfactory academic progress. Recipients should also understand that, by
accepting this award, he/she is giving UAH permission to release directory information about the recipient
for news and public affairs bulletins.
