Scholarship Description
$10,000 PER YEAR ($40,000 over 4 years) is awarded to: * High School Valedictorians or Salutatorian* * National Merit Scholarship Finalists or Semi-finalists * Students who rank in the top 1% of their high school class * Students with an SAT score of 1400 and above * Students with a composite ACT score of 32 and above $9,000 PER YEAR ($36,000 over 4 years) is awarded to: * National Merit Scholarship Commended students * Students who rank in the top 3% of their high school class * Students with an SAT score of 1300-1390 * Students with a composite ACT score of 30, 31 * Students with an SAT score of 1250-1290 and who rank in the top 10% of their high school class * Students with a composite ACT score of 29 or 30 and who rank in the top 10% of their high school class $8,000 PER YEAR ($32,000 over 4 years) is awarded to: * Students who rank in the top 5% of their high school class * Students with an SAT score of 1250-1290 * Students with a composite ACT score of 28 or 29 * Students with an SAT score of 1150-1240 and who rank in the top 15% of their high school class * Students with a composite ACT score of 26, 27 and who rank in the top 15% of their high school class * Transfer students with a Cummulative GPA of 3.7 or higher $7,000 PER YEAR ($28,000 over 4 years) is awarded to: * Students who rank in the top 10% of their high school class * Students with an SAT score of 1150-1240 * Students with a composite ACT score of 26, 27 * Students with an SAT score of 1100-1140 and high school GPA of 3.5 or higher * Students with a composite ACT score of 24, 25 and high school GPA of 3.5 or higher * Transfer students with a Cummulative GPA of 3.3 or higher $6,000 PER YEAR ($24,000 over 4 years) is awarded to: * Students who rank in the top 25% of their high school class * Students with an SAT score of 1100-1140 * Students with a composite ACT score of 24, 25 * Students with a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher * Transfer students with a Cummulative GPA of 3.0 or higher SAT scores represent the combined Verbal/Critical Reading and Math sections only of the New SAT and the previous SAT I exams. The amount of the Provost's Scholarship award may be adjusted upon receipt of new information at any time prior to March 1 (June 1 for Transfers) for fall enrollment. Adjustments to Provost's Scholarships are not allowed after March 1 (June 1 for Transfers). * Messiah College reserves the right to adjust the amount of a Provost's Scholarship in cases when the student is a member of a graduating class with fewer than 40 students, or if a transfer student has completed less than 30 credits. ** Transfer students with a cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher may increase the amount of their scholarship if their high school record meets the criteria for a higher level award.
