The mission of Mount Aloysius College is to respond to individual and community needs with quality programs of education in the tradition of the Religious Sisters of Mercy. Each student will have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and to develop values, attitudes, and competencies necessary for lifelong learning within an environment which reflects a liberal arts orientation and a Catholic, Judeo-Christian heritage.
Theatre is more than just an extra-curricular activity at Mount Aloysius College. Our academic season has expanded to four shows, and range from Chapel Drama, Readers' Theatre and Musicals. We have established our own chapter of Alpha Psi Omega (the National Dramatics Honorary Society) and a minor in Theatre has been added to the curriculum. Eligibility Requirements:
Be entering Mount Aloysius College as a new traditional student.
Complete an application and your personal essay.
Send three letters of recommendation.
Schedule and complete the interview/audition process.
Be passionate about being a part of the Mount Aloysius College theatre!
Criteria:
These scholarships of $1,000 are renewable each year, provided you maintain the following criteria:
Audition for each college production.
Be registered as a full-time student.
Participate in at least one production a semester (either in performance or production areas).
Attend all strikes (removal of the set following each production).
Maintain a 2.8 QPA As the final part of your application process, you will be interviewed by the Director of the Theatre Arts program.
As part of your interview, you will be asked to perform two monologues (one serious, one humorous). Each monologue can be no more than five minutes in length.
Please note: Theatre Scholarships may be awarded to students in ANY major - but preference will be given to students majoring in English.
