BAE Scholarship: For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST)

Scholarship Description
Requirements: ALL Purpose: This is an official recognition of the knowledge and technical and life skills students have gained from participating in a FIRST competition. FIRST scholarships enable students to pursue majors and careers in engineering, computer science, aeronautics, and many other technical fields.This FIRST scholarship is sponsored by the Penn State College of Engineering and BAE Systems, Inc. BAE Systems provides support and service solutions for current and future defense, intelligence, and civilian systems; designs, develops and manufactures a wide range of electronic systems and subsystems for both military and commercial applications; produces specialized security and protection products for law enforcement and first responders; and designs, develops, produces, and provides service support of armored combat vehicles, artillery systems, and intelligent munitions. Eligibility: US Citizen Student must be a high school senior and Participate on a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team or on a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team. The candidate selected to receive this award must: 1. satisfy all requirements for admission to Penn State, completing the application and enrollment process 2. remain a full-time student and maintain a minimum 3.33 cumGPA in the College of Engineering Terms of Awards: $2,500 annual scholarship is renewable for up to four years, and has a total value of $10,000. The award will be disbursed in the amount of $1,250 for each semester, not to exceed 8 semesters.
