J. David Derr, D.P.M. Memorial Scholarship
- Scholarship Description
- Awarded to third-year students who have excelled academically, have a record of service to TUSPM and colleagues, and a demonstrated financial need. Made possible through the estate of J. David Derr, D.P.M. Dr. Derr was commissioned in the Air Force following his graduation from the Temple School of Chiropody in 1958. He opened a practice in Idaho after his tour of duty, but returned to the Air Force, where he spent the rest of his career. He left his entire estate to TUSPM for scholarships. Five awards of approximately $4,000 each are given to third-year students, and Dr. Derr's bequest also helps to fund Merit Scholarships for incoming students.
