Joseph Powell Scholarships
Scholarship Description
Established by the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation in honor of Joseph Powell, President Emeritus of Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation, these scholarships are awarded to high school students entering the College and are based on academic achievement, professional goals and community service.
Eligibility Requirements include:
High School GPA of at least a 3.25, 24 ACT
Meet all regular admissions requirements
Available to students in all majors
An essay outlining professional goals, personal achievement and awards, and previous community service
Number of Awards: 4
Annual Dollar Value: $6,500 ($3,250 Fall and Spring)
Total Award Value: $26,000
Each recipient will be required to be continuously enrolled as a full-time student, maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average at BCHS, and complete 40 documented hours of community service annually. Renewal up to four years if the recipient successfully completes all renewal criteria.
