Joy Faye Fox Memorial Scholarship Endowment
- Scholarship Description
- Established and awarded annually by members of the English department faculty. Fund was renamed to honor Dr. Hyde's substantial contribution to the fund and express their admiration for his distinguished career as a teacher at UW-L. Dr. Hyde was at UW-L for 36 years. Criteria: 1. attended UW-L for at least 30 credits and must have completed at least 60 credits but no more than 110 credits at the time of the announcement of the award and shall not have completed more than 120 credits at the time of award to be enrolled full time with an English major. 2. at least a 3.5 gpa. 3. financial need may be considered. 4. exhibit fluency in the American-English language both oral and written forms, to demonstrate the ability to interpret and appreciate literary texts, and exhibit manifest knowledge of English and/or American literature commensurate with the academic level attained by the student at the time of the award. 5. completed at least two upper division English courses (300-400 level) at the time of award.
