Academic Excellence Award

Scholarship Description
This award is intended to recognize, encourage and assist currently enrolled undergraduate, graduate, and professional students who have excellent scholastic records, campus and community activities, leadership positions, work experience and in some cases evidence of financial need. Approximately 800 scholarships are awarded at the end of the spring semester for the following academic year. Stipends generally range from $500 to $1,500 per year. Eligibility: A candidate must submit a Continuing Student Scholarship application, be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree-granting course of study and have a satisfactory conduct record. Eligible applicants must hold and maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative TAMU GPR. Eligibility for the need-based awards requires the submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Duration:Most awards are granted for one year. Recipients of scholarships for $1,000 or more from Texas A&M University, who are not Texas residents, may be eligible to receive a waiver of non-resident tuition.
