- Edwin C. Kirkland and Mary Kirkland-Johns Scholarship Eligibility: students studying folklore or Victorian English; financial need and academic merit. Value: (1) M.A. candidates: $5,000 for two years (can be supplemented with assistantship and tuition waiver); (2) Ph.D. candidates: first and third-years; $5,000 each year (can be supplemented with assistantship and tuition waiver); second- and fourth-years: $17,500 each year plus tuition; $500 for professional travel once during award; renewals subject to satisfactory progress review and eligibility
