The Neal Baisi Athletic Center was designed specifically to meet the needs of the students and student-athletes at WVU Tech. Built in 1968, the building has three floors, providing both offices for its coaches and Athletic Coaching Education lecturers and athletic venues that are among the best in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. In addition to a 2,000-seat gymnasium, the Neal Baisi Athletic Center houses a Wellness Center, swimming pool, a fully-equipped weight room and a the Kelley Hall of Fame Room filled with the accomplishments of WVU Tech’s student-athletes and coaches.
Martin Field is the home to WVU Tech football. Martin Field has a seating capacity of approximately 2,800 and is located at the highest point on WVU Tech’s campus.
Located on the second floor of the Neal D. Baisi Athletic Center, the Bear Cave is home to the Golden Bear wrestling team. It was renovated in 2010 to serve as the permanent practice home for the Tech wrestling program.
Level 3
Scholarship Description
1. WV Residents eligible for Level 1, 2 and 3 WV Resident Freshmen Scholarships satisfy WVU Tech's “General Requirements for Admission of High School Graduates” in addition to the academic performance criteria listed in the table.
2. Level 1, 2 and 3 WV Resident Freshmen Scholarship recipients must complete a minimum of 24 credit hours of WVU Tech courses applicable to graduation from a particular WVU Tech program during an academic year to maintain eligibility for a subsequent academic year. Recipients can only maintain receipt of the scholarship for four contiguous academic years. Only the WVU Tech Campus Provost can grant exceptions to this criterion. Appeals for exceptions to this criterion must be submitted to the WVU Tech Campus Provost Office at least 60 days before the exception is required.
4. Level 2 and 3 WV Resident Freshmen Scholarship recipients must have a minimum 2.75 overall GPA from WVU Tech and a minimum 2.75 professional GPA from WVU Tech at the end of the summer term before an academic year begins to maintain eligibility for that academic year. Only the WVU Tech Campus Provost can grant exceptions to this criterion. Appeals for exceptions to this criterion must be submitted to the WVU Tech Campus Provost Office for consideration at least 60 days before the exception is required.
