Since the Academy of Art University's scholarship program was founded over forty years ago, we have helped aspiring artists and designers pursue their educational goals in art and design. The Academy of Art University offers a number of innovative and inexpensive ways for first-time Academy students, high school students, and teachers to improve their skills and experience all that the Academy has to offer. Please take a moment to learn more about these scholarship programs.

Pre-College Programs

The Pre-College Summer Art Experience and Pre-College Saturday Art Experience are programs that provide intensive art experiences for high school students. All high school students are invited to apply to take advantage of this full-tuition scholarship (based on availability).

Portfolio Grant

Every year, the Academy of Art University awards Portfolio Grants to assist Undergraduate students to pursue their education in the industry of Art.

Teacher Grant

The Teacher Grant provides high school and community college art teachers an opportunity to practice and improve their skills. These full-tuition scholarships apply toward any regular undergraduate course and are subject to limited availability.

Scholarship Description
The program mission is to encourage and inspire those who work with young artists and designers, and to provide teachers and counselors the opportunity to refresh and expand their skills as well as tap into the creative community in San Francisco.

Open to all secondary school and community college teachers and counselors. previous Teacher Grant Recipients are not eligible to apply. Grants are limited and it is the University's mission to provide the opportunity to as many educators as possible. All applicants must provide a copy of their teaching certificate; resume; letter of intent; and recommendation letter from from school principal, dean, or department chairperson.
