Academy of Art University Scholarships

Overview:

Academy of Art University is the largest accredited private art and design university in the nation. Founded in 1929 by artists for artists, the Academy offers accredited AA, BA, BFA, B.Arch*, MA, MFA and M.Arch degree programs in 23 areas of study, as well as continuing art education, pre-college art experience programs and teacher grants. With state-of-the-art campuses online and in San Francisco, the Academy equips students for rewarding, creative professional futures.

Academy of Art University is an accredited member of WASC, NASAD, CIDA (BFA-IAD, MFA-IAD) and NAAB (B.Arch*, M.Arch).

*B.Arch is currently in candidacy status.

Academy of Art University requires all students in undergraduate degree-seeking programs to have a high school degree or an equivalency. And admission to the graduate programs requires official transcripts indicating at least the completion of a bachelor's degree, submission of a portfolio of work (portfolio requirements vary by discipline), a statement of intent outlining graduate study goals, a resume and two letters of recommendation.

Scholarship Description
The program mission is to encourage and inspire those who work with young artists and designers, and to provide teachers and counselors the opportunity to refresh and expand their skills as well as tap into the creative community in San Francisco.

Open to all secondary school and community college teachers and counselors. previous Teacher Grant Recipients are not eligible to apply. Grants are limited and it is the University's mission to provide the opportunity to as many educators as possible. All applicants must provide a copy of their teaching certificate; resume; letter of intent; and recommendation letter from from school principal, dean, or department chairperson.
