This scholarship is for Asian American high school seniors and current college students. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be pursuing a major in the performing or visual arts, journalism, or mass communications. Applicants must be at least 50% Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity; and be a citizen, national, or legal resident of the United States. Applicants must be enrolled in a US accredited junior, vocational, or four-year college or university as full-time, degree-seeking students in the upcoming academic year. Applicants must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, and other activities. Scholarship winners are encouraged to attend Against the Grain's annual charity event, Fashion for a Passion, held in Fall of 2014 in Dallas, Texas
