Scholarship Overview
These scholarships are for teachers and students of bowed instruments, such as the violin, viola, cello, or string bass. To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must be US citizens. Applicants may be in any grade or year of school. Scholarships are available to attend workshops or music camps, or to obtain private lessons, instruments, or music supplies. Scholarships may be used for nearly any educational bowed string instrument program in the United States is acceptable; be sure to include with your application promotional materials about the program you are interested in. Applicants must demonstrate their need by applying and submitting with their application two recommendations from people with a knowledge of their skills and their past study habits and progression as a musician. Applications are accepted throughout the year and should be submitted to allow enough time to contact you if additional information is needed as well as time for the foundation directors to review and make their recommendation on your application.
