Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for students who are employed by an AFPD Michigan member company for at least six months as of January 1; and for students whose parent is a full- or part-time employee of an AFPD member company for at least one year as of January 1. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be high school seniors, college freshmen, college sophomores, or college juniors. Applicants also must belong to one of the following ethnic groups to qualify for minority status: African American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, or Arab/Chaldean American. Scholarships are awarded based on past academic performance, leadership and participation in school and community activities, and grades. Scholarship winners are required to attend the AFPD Foundation Joseph D. Sarafa Scholarship Luncheon, where they will receive their scholarship.
