Scholarship Overview
This award is for students in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 who are attending classes in a recognized California educational setting. To qualify for this award, applicants must have a passion for writing and be nominated by a member of the California Association for the Gifted. To apply, applicants must submit a creative composition of two to five pages (using size 12 font, double-spaced) on a topic that addresses a subject of vital interest to the student that has an impact on society as a whole. The rubric for selection will include clarity; grammatical correctness; imaginative use of English, demonstrating the beauty of language; and a creative vision of the future. The recipient of the award will receive $100 and their piece will be published by the California Association for the Gifted in the Gifted Educator Communicator Journal and online on the CAG website.
