Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for high school graduates and returning students of African-American descent who are single parents and the singular providers of the income for their households. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be residents of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, be between the ages of 17 and 30 years, and be among their family's first generation to pursue a college degree. Applicants must be passionate about education and write an essay explaining the characteristics and conditions of their ability and how they will allow for their commitment to complete a degree. Preference will be given to graduates of Lancaster High School (formerly J.P. McCaskey High School).
