This scholarship is for graduating seniors attending high schools in New Jersey. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must plan to study journalism in college and pursue a journalism career. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and have participated in high school journalism for at least two years. Applicants are nominated by teachers at schools that are members of the Garden State Scholastic Press Association. Editors of newspapers that are members of the New Jersey Press Association also may nominate students. The scholarship recipient will also be named the GSSPA's New Jersey High School Journalist of the Year.
