This scholarship is for high school seniors or graduates in Contra Costa County, California, who have demonstrated service to the LGBTQ community. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have completed high school between July 1, 2009, and June 30, 2014, and must plan to begin attending an accredited college, university, or vocational/trade school for the first time in 2014. US citizenship is not a requirement for this scholarship if other criteria are met. Selection will be based on service to the LGBTQ community, leadership, hardship or special circumstances, and academic achievement. Applicants must be available for an in-person or telephone interview on March 9 or 15, 2014.
