This scholarship is for non-resident students who are graduating during the spring of 2014 from a Colorado high school. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be first-generation college students, or members of an underrepresented ethnic or racial minority and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.80 and must enroll for a minimum of six credit hours at a two- or four-year Colorado college or university in the fall of 2014. Applicants will be selected by, but no limited to, the following criteria: leadership and community service within minority communities, past academic performance, personal and professional accomplishments, personal attributes, special abilities, academic goals, and financial need. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must include a typewritten essay, not to exceed 1000 words, on a given topic and provide an official high school transcript. Applicants do not need a social security number. A verification statement of admission from the Colorado college or university will be required before the award will be granted for the fall 2014 semester.
