This scholarship is for graduating seniors of public or private schools in Harris, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Liberty, Montgomery, and Waller County, Texas. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must enroll or plan to enroll in an accredited college, university, or technical school within the state of Texas, and participate in a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree or technical certificate in engineering or a business-related field. Applicants must graduate at the end of the spring semester immediately following the awarding of the scholarship or be mid-term graduates at the conclusion of the semester immediately preceding the awarding of the scholarship. Applicants must rank in the upper half of their graduating class at the end of their junior year, have a minimum overall unweighted GPA of a "B" or 80%, and have no expulsions from school on their permanent record. Applicants also must be citizens of the United States and/or born in the United States and residents of Texas. Scholarships will be awarded based on academics, leadership, community activity, and narrative responses.
