This scholarship is for current firefighters. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be serving in one of the following areas: Cherry Valley Fire Protection District; MABAS Division 8 Fire Departments Primary and Secondary Divisions; or Kirkland and Freeport, Illinois rural and city fire departments. Applicants must be enrolling in an accredited, sanctioned, or certified course relating to fire science and/or emergency medical services training, which may include seminars and workshops. The applicants' commanding officer must approve courses as being pertinent to the needs of the department. There is no application deadline; funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
