Scholarship Overview

This scholarship is for seniors enrolled in a Chicago Public Schools (CPS) high school who are planning to enroll in an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher education in the fall of 2013. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5 and a minimum of 50 hours of community service. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must respond to the following essay questions (no more than 500 words each): (1) 'Please describe your college plans for fall of 2013. Include the institutions you plan to attend, your intended major, how you plan to pay for school-related costs,etc' and (2) 'How have Chicago's Black entrepreneurs shaped the city's history, and what lessons from them inspire you?' Applicants must also include an official high school transcript, letter of recommendation, and college letter of acceptance.
