Scholarship Overview

This grant program is for high school students in the Chicago, Illinios area who will participate in an educational travel program. Grants are awarded to the education partner and/or the travel program provider, not to the individual student. Education partners are public or private schools, community organizations, or student support organizations that provided students with extracurricular support. Eligible students include incoming high school freshman through graduating high school seniors from Chicago and the surrounding area who are from economically disadvantaged families based on the US Department of Health & Human Services poverty guidelines and other family circumstances. Eligible programs, foreign or domestic, include educational travel opportunities provided by established operators that have designed age appropriate programs in which students become immersed in new cultures; programs that allow the student to interact with others from different backgrounds; and programs that are generally two weeks in duration or longer.
