Scholarship Overview

This scholarship is for students who are descendents of the Fool Soldiers, a group of ten Teton Lakota men who successfully bargained for the freeing of 10 settlers during the Dakota Conflict in 1862. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have proof of descendency from one or more of the Fool Soldiers; have a GPA of 2.0 or higher; plan to attend an accredited college, university, vocational, or technical school; and demonstrate financial need.
