Scholarship Overview

This scholarship is for residents of Alaska who are graduating high school seniors. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be pursuing a degree in music education with a special emphasis in string instruments. Students of violin, viola, cello, and string bass are eligible to apply. Applicants must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. Applicants must be pursuing a career in the field of music education and be enrolled full-time by the beginning of the semester in which the award will be used. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must include an audition CD for their instrument of choice. Applicants must also write a personal statement of no more than 1000 words, describing their background in instruments and why they want to pursue a career as an orchestra teacher.
