Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for graduates from Smith County area high schools in Texas, who have been admitted as full-time students at a two- or four-year accredited college or university. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate financial need, have a minimum high school cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and be graduates of a high school located in Smith County or one of the following cities: Arp, Ben Wheeler, Big Sandy, Bronsboro, Bullard, Edom, Frankston, Hawkins, Jacksonville, Larue, Martins Mill, Mineola, Murchison, New London, New Summerfield, Overton, Poyner, Troup, and Van. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate motivation to pursue a college degree by written essay. Applicants should be available for a personal interview, if requested. Dependents of scholarship committee members are not eligible to apply.
