Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for Illinois high school juniors and seniors who are interested in a teaching career. If selected as a Golden Apple Scholar, applicants must earn a bachelor's degree at one of 53 Illinois universities that partner with the program. They must also obtain Illinois teacher certification and teach for five years in an Illinois school of need. Golden Apple Scholars will receive $2,500 per year for freshman and sophomore years of college, $5,000 for junior and senior years, and $2,000 for each Summer Institute they participate in. Interested students must apply or be nominated by a teacher or counselor between May of their junior year of high school and November of their senior year.
